Join Hudson Valley Adventure Club and Leigh Scott of The Science of Babies at her homestead, Moonshadow Forest Farm, in Livingston, NY, for an afternoon series designed for toddlers from walking to age 4. The series will offer semi-structured nature play and exploration for toddlers and caregivers. Children will enjoy sensory benefits of different elements of the ecosystem, and connection in nature with caregivers and peers. Grown ups will learn new ways to explore nature with young children as well as toddler parenting techniques from Leigh who has spent decades teaching parenting workshops.
Series dates: August 13, 20, 27, 3:30 - 5 pm
Sample Schedule/Flow
Circle time introductions and story under the trees with afternoon snack
Group exploratory walk
Sensory and imaginative play activity (e.g., bake ‘nature cakes’; float a boat; stack rock towers; make fairy houses)
Closing circle with song and mindfulness exercise
